Heyday Medical has been named a two-time state winner in the Telstra Best of Business Awards.

The firm scored in the Championing Health and Outstanding Growth categories for Tasmania, with Telstra praising Heyday as “a medicinal cannabis company that aims to evolve healthcare by empowering patients with a new approach to better health”.

The Hobart-headquartered business has more than 380 prescribers across Australia and supports more than 6,000 patients. 

Telstra added: “Founded by Dr Jim Connell and Phoebe Macleod, Heyday prides itself on innovation, patient care, and sustainable cannabis medicine.”

The awards were created to celebrate Australia’s best small and medium-sized businesses as “the foundation of the country’s financial, cultural and social prosperity”. 

“The successful ones can adapt to both their own and their community’s changing needs,” Telstra said.

Companies are recognised in seven categories: Accelerating Women, Building Communities, Championing Health, Embracing Innovation, Indigenous Excellence, Outstanding Growth and Promoting Sustainability.
